I returned this book. Recipes are obviously missing ingredients. Note, for instance, the "Red Pepper and Walnut Dip" on p. 83 that does not list walnuts in the ingredients list--just wholewheat bread (preferably homemade!). Now, I like bread too (particularly homemade), but it really is not the same thing as walnuts. At least have the decency to change the name if you are going nut-free.Also, many of the recipes are not so much blender recipes. They appear to be regular recipes that have been adapted so that you can blow the dust off that expensive vitamix and use it for one little part of the preparation process. For instance, the cornbread recipe just has you mix the wet ingredients in the blender. How exactly is that better than stirring? I am not sure that it will even be faster. And it leads to more clean up since a bowl and spoon is used in the next stage of the recipe anyway.I like my vitamix, but this book does not really help me.

I bought this after I got a Vitamix for Christmas. It is a nicely made, pretty book, and it has some good recipes, but I haven't used it nearly as much as I thought is would. There are many recipes with obscure ingredients that I just don't have on hand most of the time. It also uses terminology and directions specific for one model of Vitamix, which is not the same model that I have, so it makes it difficult to follow the instructions.

I just got my copy of "The Vitamix Cookbook" today and I am happy to report it has more than exceeded my expectations. I have been an enthusiastic Vitamix owner for many years but have used it mainly for smoothies, soups and sauces. This cookbook, however, really goes way beyond smoothies and illustrates beautifully the amazing versatility of the Vitamix.I also love the Introduction which gives an interesting history of the Vitamix.I purchased the hard copy rather than the digital copy because I don't like using my Kindle in the kitchen (I am a messy cook). The book is gorgeous and beautifully illustrated.Highly recommended!

This book literally just arrived within the last hour and I must say, so far, I'm impressed! It's an attractive book, nicely hardbound with an inch thick of content.I got this book to compliment the Vitamix 7500 "Santa" got us for Christmas (2017)The 7500 was a packaged deal from another vendor (well-known shopping program) that included two low-profile containers (regular & dry), two cookbook/recipe books, two tampers, and a CD. There's a similar package here on Amazon. The recipe book included with the 7500 is: "Intro to High Performance Blending", which is hardback and an excellent Intro to the Vitamix with a concise sampling of the various types of recipes (115) you can make using your Vitamix. If you get the dry ingredients container, there is a paperback recipe book, "Whole Grains Cookbook" with 54 recipes using grains and other dry ingredients. It, too, is an excellent book.I think this Jodi Berg cookbook, "The Vitamix Cookbook: 250 Delicious Whole Food Recipes to Make in Your Blender" is an excellent way to illustrate how easy it can be to incorporate our Vitamix into eating healthier (vs "fast food" and pre-packaged food). Each recipe shows complete instructions along with its nutritional values. Many of the recipes have a color photo as well.I'm fanning through the recipes and can't wait to try so many of them already!

I've made several of the recipes so far, I like them all. My favorite is the Tomato Vinaigrette, this has become a favorite topping for burgers, tacos, vegetables etc. The family history of the Vitamix family and whole food focus of the recipes is great, a few more photos would be nice, but a wealth of information.I had some roasted acorn squash in the freezer, so I substituted it into the "Sassy Sweet Potato Soup" recipe on page 103, added some rosemary and a little curry, then I left out the honey since I'm not a fan of sweet soups, it was incredible, fully of ginger-y goodness! The creamy parsley sauce is like a more flavorful chimmichuri sauce, I keep a squeeze bottle of it in the fridge all the time now, it is great.I really had my doubts about the not-so-cheesy cheese sauce, I've made it about eight times now. I'm normally not a fan of "fake cheese" at all, but I love nacho cheese, I just hate how bad it is for you, this tastes great and is healthy, my little girl loves it too. I've started adding 1/2 tsp chipotle powder and smoked paprika, recently I've been adding some jalapenos, love it, really good and don't feel terrible about eating it or feeding it to my kids.About nine months ago I started having smoothies for breakfast for health and if I prep them the night before it is time efficient in the morning too, I've been very happy with the results, I feel better, lost some weight and look better. Then about six months ago out of the blue my dad had a heart attack, the doctor gave him a new diet which he has been sticking to religiously. After things calmed down a little I started bugging him about trying the smoothies, healthy soups, etc. I finally got him to try it and he has noticed huge changes, he lost close to 20 pounds on top of what he lost from the diet the doctors gave him!!! Both he and my mom keep mentioning how much more energy he has now too!!! He was napping a lot before, even over the phone I can how much more energetic and happy he is. This is all largely because of what I have learned from my Vitamix and this book. You can't put a price on health and happiness.
